Fact-Checking & Sourcing Policy

Last updated: 27 September 2025

At 360DigitalTrends, accuracy comes first. Every guide, comparison, and review is checked for factual correctness before and after publication. How we handle errors, updates, and transparency.

How we verify information

  • Primary sources first: official documentation, developer blogs, release notes, SEC filings, and product pages.

  • Independent verification: we reproduce steps, run tools, or validate results with controlled tests whenever possible.

  • Timestamped updates: major edits add an Update/Clarification note with the date (see our Corrections Policy).

  • Expert review: complex topics are reviewed by a subject-matter editor before publishing.

Source quality standards

  • Prefer original/primary sources over summaries.

  • Cite the exact version (software/library), model number, or SKU when relevant.

  • Avoid anonymous claims, unverified rumors, or screenshots with no provenance.

  • Clearly label sponsored data or vendor-supplied benchmarks.

Version pinning: we record the exact software version / model number / SKU tested, and update notes when retested on a newer version.

Attribution & citation

  • Cite sources near the relevant claim (inline) and link to the exact page, release notes, or document.
  • Prefer permalinks or versioned docs when available.
  • Quote sparingly; summarize and link to the original.

Reproducibility

Where feasible, we describe test setups and criteria so results can be reproduced. See also our How We Test.

Examples of Primary Sources

We prioritize:

  • Official documentation (user manuals, developer guides, API documentation).

  • Release notes from vendors (changelog posts, version announcements).

  • Regulatory filings (e.g. SEC reports for publicly traded companies).

  • Authoritative blogs or statements from the creator or manufacturer.
Anonymous forums or unverified screenshots are not considered reliable sources.

Conflicts of interest

Authors and editors must disclose any relationships (employment, consulting, gifts, or review units). We decline coverage if independence may be compromised.

See our broader standards in the Editorial Guidelines.

AI & automation

We may use AI tools for drafting or fact aggregation, but all facts are verified by humans and all recommendations are made by editors. See our AI Use Policy.
